My War Against Love is Over.

This piece is part of the artistic installation titled My War Against Love is Over, created by Ana Sting during the week of January 27 to February 2 at C/Alejandro Sánchez 94, Madrid, Spain.

The artist reflects on the clash between death and love in her project My War Against Love is Over. Stemming from an experience of heartbreak, the artist enters a reflective and solitary period, questioning her constant relational hindrances and her denial of love. In this way, the solitude that arises as a consequence of detaching from any bonds and undergoing this process of introspection is seen as beneficial. Gradually, she manages to reconcile both with others and with herself, realizing that, in the end, what has caused the war between her and love is precisely the fear of losing it. To understand and thus bring an end to this internal war, Sting brings her battlefield into the realm of reality.

As a form of protection for others, the artist constructs a fort made of jute sacks, reminiscent of those used by soldiers in the world wars. These sacks are embroidered, transformed into tapestries, thereby altering their inherently aggressive language. They are stacked to create a wall that generates spatial violence, marking the boundaries of a trench. The scale of these objects is so imposing that, rather than protecting, they suffocate.
