El estilo Pop, junto con la influencia del cartoon y el manga, unen la obra de estas jóvenes artistas radicadas en España, cuyas paletas vibrantes transforman el lobby del hotel Thompson en una exposición colectiva que durará todo el mes de febrero.

El tríptico de Sol Felpeto forma parte de su serie de obras urbanas inspiradas en la vida en distintas ciudades. En esta pieza, la artista toma como referencia una singular normativa neoyorquina que exige que los perros solo puedan viajar en el metro si caben dentro de una bolsa. La creatividad de los ciudadanos ante esta regla plagó el metro de escenas irónicas que Felpeto reinterpreta con ingenio.

Laura Rastrollo, por su parte, convierte la silla en un reflejo de su mundo interior, con una estética marcadamente pop. Este objeto, símbolo de hogar y descanso, también evoca la ausencia, la huella de alguien que estuvo pero ya no está. Para la artista, la silla es un universo de posibilidades, explorado desde todas las perspectivas posibles. Como ella misma explica: «Hace algunos años encontré una silla en la basura y, en ese instante, vi en ella una metáfora».

Amanda Feito (Mandy Shadows) aporta una nota sentimental a esta exposición colectiva con su serie de autorretratos poéticos, que funcionan como un diario personal plasmado en óleo. Los versos que aparecen a modo de subtítulos añaden una dimensión cinematográfica a sus obras, mientras que la presencia de personajes de anime completan su universo visual. 

El humor, la estética naif y los recuerdos de la infancia se combinan en esta muestra, cuyo contraste se presenta a través de la madurez reflejada en la crítica, la melancolía y la introspección. Crecer, al fin y al cabo, duele.

The Pop Art style, along with the influence of cartoons and manga, unites the work of these young artists based in Spain, whose vibrant palettes transform the lobby of the Thompson Hotel into a collective exhibition that will last throughout the month of February.

Sol Felpeto's triptych is part of her series of urban works inspired by life in different cities. In this piece, the artist draws inspiration from a unique New York regulation that requires dogs to only travel on the subway if they fit inside a bag. The creativity of the city's residents in response to this rule flooded the subway with ironic scenes, which Felpeto cleverly reinterprets.

Laura Rastrollo, on the other hand, turns the chair into a reflection of her inner world, with a distinctly pop aesthetic. This object, a symbol of home and rest, also evokes absence—the trace of someone who was once there but is no longer. For the artist, the chair represents a universe of possibilities, explored from every possible perspective. As she herself explains: "A few years ago, I found a chair in the trash, and in that instant, I saw a metaphor in it."

Amanda Feito (Mandy Shadows) adds a sentimental touch to this collective exhibition with her series of poetic self-portraits, which function as a personal diary captured in oil paint. The verses that appear as subtitles add a cinematic dimension to her works, while the presence of anime characters completes her visual universe.

Humor, naive aesthetics, and childhood memories come together in this show, whose contrast is presented through the maturity reflected in the critique, melancholy, and introspection. After all, growing up hurts.
